WHO WE ARE?

The Alpina Foundation works to improve the Food and Nutritional Security (SAN) generating and transferring knowledge. Build institutional capacities and communities for sustainability and autonomy.


Our goal is to promote and / or execute directly or in partnership, initiatives, projects, programs and activities that contribute to improving food and nutrition security of the population.

Through its Foundation, Alpina also generates collective prosperity transferring their knowledge to vulnerable communities and strengthens its commitment to geographical areas where it is present.

HISTORY

Since 2009 the Alpina Foundation carries out projects  Colombia and Ecuador with the aim of promoting human development through methodologies and mechanisms that strengthen the productive capacities of communities and improve their nutritional status, with priority given to children and their families in a sustainable way.


In 2014 the program benefited 9,647 families and executed from partnerships with public and private entities such as the governorates of Cauca and La Guajira, the Municipality of Tocancipá, SENA, Mexico's FEMSA Foundation and the Promigas Foundation, among other.


In execution, it empowered communities to improve their nutritional status autonomously, through programs of technical and production development and implementation of innovative approaches in food education and interventions promoting healthy lifestyles.



In six years, the Alpine Foundation presents a balance of 37 projects in Colombia and three in Ecuador, and culminating each other in development. In addition, he has published 65 manuals and documents that systematize the lessons learned and participation in public policy to build scenarios.





OTHER DATA


The Alpina Foundation has published several books, magazines and other documents intended orientation on topics such as nutrition, food, agricultural credits and other related topics.
